88 Garden

Korean BBQ (kalbi gui, sides, mint leaves)

Wood chip charcoal

Kalbi gui..(beef short ribs)

I could eat Korean barbecue everyday. It tastes good, makes you feel good, makes you ___ good. Everything about it is wonderful.

88 garden is one of my favorite places to eat these delicacies. The owners are very nice and will come serve you themselves. They take their food VERY seriously. In fact, if you go in the back, you'll see a garden where they grow a lot of their herbs and vegetables. To me, that's soooo cool. They offer a full Korean menu, but I'll recommend you stick to the bbq if you're new to the cuisine. Chicken and beef bulgogi are good choices for the beginning. Bulgogi, just simply means meat. Generally speaking the chicken may be prepared with a little pepper paste and other spices giving it a little kick. The beef will probably have a soy sauce and garlic flavor, so order accordingly.

If you want to eat like me, my favorite thing to order is the Kalbi. Again, this is beef short ribs marinated in soy sauce and other Korean spices. They generally grill it and cut it into small pieces you can put in lettuce wraps. Take a little rice, a little meat, some hot sauce (pepper paste), throw it in a mint leaf or lettuce and you've got something special. Don't worry about being messy, that's half the fun. Dig in, enjoy, and share the experience.
