Chicken fiesta : Richmond

Chicken Fiesta

Half Chicken with Pintos
If you follow me on Foursquare, Twitter, or Instagram, you already know this quickly became on of my favorite places to eat. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!

If you're unfamiliar with my posts, Chicken Fiesta is a "Tex Mex" restaurant that specializes in charcoal rotisserie chicken. Yes, I said CHARCOAL ROTISSERIE chicken..

CHARCOAL ROTISSERIE

Okay, I'm done.

CHARCOAL ROTISSERIE

Okay, I'm really done.

It's that good..

They've expanded quite a bit now, but I remember walking in the small Southside location seeing a whole rack of h Hispanics. That was a great sign for me. Immediately I begin to look around and see what everyone was eating. I'm scanning the room trying to figure out what is smelling so damn good! I look at plate after plate, all I see are elephant graveyard looking piles of bones everywhere.
Then it happens, someone walks beside me with an extremely large steaming plate of chicken, steak, beans and rice. I had to have it. If you REALLY know me, you also know this is great for me because I like variety. Conveniently this is all available in a combo #7 ( MESSAGE!)

I patiently wait for my food, then my name is called. You should hear them say Meek, it's hilarious. They then hand me a plate with a charcoal grilled steak, this wonderful charcoal grilled chicken, rice, beans, salad, and some huge french fry looking things called yucca. Upon further research, I learn yucca is a root type deal that's popular in Spanish Culture. It was pretty good, but that's not what this article is about. It's about:

CHARCOAL ROTISSERIE

Sorry, didn't mean to yell. I had a flash back. The steak and chicken were well seasoned. In fact, it was much better than I expected. Especially for the combo being only 10 bucks(with a drink). While the seasoning was great, everything was cooked well too. The chicken had a slight bark outside while being extremely juicy and tender on the inside, due to the charcoal based cooking. To this point, it's the literally the best rotisserie chicken I've ever eaten. I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant.

Go there, get #4's and #7s. Thank me later.

SN: The chicken sandwich is EXCELLENT! They use some of the rotisserie chicken, toss it with some peppers and onions, and make a chicken cheesesteak-like situation for you. Everything about it says love.Tell them to go light on the oil though, they saute the chicken..

Enjoy my friends.

They have family platters too! I get these for the team every once in a while!
