Primanti Bros : Pittsburgh
Primanti Bros
There's a story attached to my Primanti Bros adventure, it goes a little something like this:
Every since I saw this humongous pile of carbs and grease, I made a decision I had to have it. As with any decision, you need a plan of action. I planed to visit visit my brother from another mother , while there I'll sample this Steel city delicacy.
There was only one problem with my plan. I forgot the name of the restaurant!
I remembered the name had "brothers" in it. I remembered the sandwich had french fries on it. I remembered it was made on french bread. I remembered it had coleslaw on the sandwich, but I couldn't remember the name! I described it as best as I could to my friend, but he couldn't figure out what I was talking about. That trip to Pittsburgh didn't include Primanti Brothers at all.
Moving on, of course I remember the name SOON as I get home. Ok, I'm lying, it was on a tv show SOON as I got home though!
I called my friend and he knew what I was talking about immediately. Said the restaurant wasn't anything special. I couldn't believe him, I should have.
I went on my next trip up...
Here starts the review...
The sandwich was the BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT of my adult life! After seeing this on Man Vs Food and other food shows, I HAD to have it! Prices and portions were reasonable, but the food was BLAND! After pouring whole salt and pepper shakers on my sandwich, it was still barely edible...I had to use ketchup, I don't even like ketchup...
As usual, this is just my opinion. Go for yourself and make your own. This sandwich just wasn't and isn't for me. I need flavor son!
